FAQs

What are the most important features to consider when buying an e-bike or e-scooter?

The main features to consider are speed and distance. Also important are breaking power and wheel size.

The greater the watts and amps, the faster it is. The distance that can be achieved depends on the size and quality of the battery. We only use lithium batteries. Lithium batteries provide more watts and amps and also longer charge.

Breaking power is best with disc brakes. Phazed E-Scooters uses only strong breaking systems.

We have found that inflatable tyres with larger wheels
(10 inch) are safer on the road.

Other considerations when choosing a scooter are the weight and how easily the scooter folds down.

Can you use an E-Bike or E-Scooter in the rain?

It’s advisable that that you check the instruction manual for each item. Please try and keep the battery and electrics dry, most should cope with a sower however we recommend dry/fair weather riding.

Do you need a licence for adult e-scooters?

No, you are not required to have a driver’s licence or learners permit in order to use an electric scooter on private land.

How much are electric scooters?

Electric scooters vary in price. The main factors influencing price are:

  1. Power of the motor (electric motors are designated by ‘watts’ i.e.: 350w, 500w, 600w etc.)

  2. Battery type (lead acid or lithium ion)

  3. Battery capacity (bigger battery means more power and more mileage)

  4. Build quality

How long does it take to charge?

Each E-Scooter / E-Bike will vary from model to model typically from 2-8hrs, please see our product page for information on individual products.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

There are no specific standards from any governing body specifically for electric scooter helmets, though several organisations have laid out helpful guidelines we always recommend the rider to use as much protection as possible.

Where should I store and charge my E-Scooter?

When storing your scooter, please keep it in a dry ambient place and if you are not using the scooter frequently make sure that you charge it every 3 months for 30 mins. Please keep them away from flammable materials.

Do not charge your scooter near where or when you sleep at night.

How should I look after my e-bike battery?

Generally speaking as long as you don't leave your battery for long periods of time completely empty and you top the battery up after each ride, this is all you need to do.

As with all electrical devices we strongly advice not to charge your battery unattended.
